Angry Okay, how do I remove XXX rated names out of my search (old imported XXX videos)

A while back when I was still testing sageTV beta, I had imported some XXX videos; which have long been gone (over a year ago). Currently when ANYONE does a search on SageTV in my livingroom, it shows xxx rated video clips that I no longer have.

Are you still using v3, like your sig lines say? If so, try setting the make_all_mediafiles_local=true property.

If you are using v5 & having this problem, you should file a bug report about it.

Well hopefully in the future imported stuff won't be included in the search results.

It's already set to true. So, is this a sageTV bug? Is there anything I can do in the meantime while waiting for this to get fixed?

Thanks,
Micheal

BTW: how did you remove those files from the library? Did you stop importing the dirs, delete the files from the drive, or simply disconnect the drive/stop sharing the network location?

If you simply removed access to the location they were imported from (disconnected the drive or removed the share/mapped drive letter), then SageTV may not be able to determine that the files aren't there if it can't see the location where they used to be. Check the file details for the imaginary video to see where it thinks the file is... if it allows you to jump to that screen.

I just deleted all the XXX files in Windows explorer. I already tried to look for the entries in the wiz.bin file, but no luck.

The same thing happened to me with imported files, and also to Sage files that Sage lost track of during a file move, and "converted" to an import. Those files are no longer in the library, watched and deleted, but they still show up in "search".

The original imports were "mapped drives" pointing to network shares. I was having some problems with the mapped drives disconnecting, and needing to be reconnected. I have remapped the drive letter on many occasions to see if they will delete from the search menus, but no luck.

I've noticed that the stuck listings have "past airing" history if you seletct them in the search menu.

I have several of these floating around my wiz.bin also when doing searches or looking at the viewing history. For some reason they all have ShowIDs starting with MF. Don't know if that helps. These only show up in searches or looking at viewing history. They aren't in the imports anymore. They are from various months etc.

I believe the one common thread here is that I manually deleted these within Sage after watching them.

OK I just tested this and it is in fact because I deleted it from within the imported videos. Looking in Studio the call is DeleteFile(MediaFile)
Guess where the MF comes from I guess that delete call turns the item into a DB item.

Now I just need to find a way to remove these from my wiz.bin.

I'll pass this onto Jeff as well.

We'll more than likely need the Wiz.bin....but don't worry....there's no way you could send us a Wiz.bin file that's worse than some of the stuff we've seen in the past from Wiz.bins people have sent us.

Im just curious why it requires me to send my wiz.bin if this is a reproducable bug. Apparently, Im not the only one who has this problem doing the same thing... deleted or removed media files still show up in search (when deleted or removed using Windows.

I'm assuming that they need to manually purge the data from the wiz.bin, and that is why they need it sent in.

I'm gonna need to do that myself, I just hope they can do it fast, so I don't loose to much down time. I'm assuming that I could possibly have some issues with newer recordings if I replaced my active wiz.bin with one that Sage had repaired, but was 1-2 days older. Those recordings recorded newer than the repaired wiz.bin, would they show up as recordings, or as imports?

ToxMox sent us his Wiz.bin and we found the problem. It'll be fixed for V5.1.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I also have some videos listed in my search that I'd rather get rid of. Is it possible to remove these manually, or through sage somehow? Please let me know.

Try stopping sagetv service/exit application. Edit the Sage.properties file and set
Code:
force_full_content_reindex=true
