New Version 0.64

Just a quick update that has an updated version of the xml file that Dirk had modified to be more compatible with the new SageMC 6.3.4. Thanks Dirk! You can update and import just the xml file from the attachment on the first post of this thread.

I think this will fix your config page problem.

Still getting MeInMaui's random screen saver changes merged into this new version along with one other minor fix.

Noob can't follow directions?

I have tried to apply the movietimes customization into SageMC at least three times now using the directions given in the .pdf file and I can't get it to work. The first four steps are:

1. Create a folder called MovieTimes in the root of your C:\ drive.
2. Download the MovieTimes plugin from the SageTV downloads area in the forums.
3. Open the ZIP file, and inside you’ll see two other ZIP files, mtsa.zip and MovieTimes-stvi.zip.

a. NOTE: On this step, if you are upgrading from a previous version, you’ll want to make sure to not overwrite config.xml and locations.xml. Open the mtsa.zip file, be sure that your unzip program is set to extract files with their paths, and extract it to the C:\MovieTimes folder. No paths in my download??

b. Open the mt-stvi.zip file, and extract that (with paths) to the Sage root folder (by default, this is C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV). This will extract the STVi my download includes a .xml file into STVs\SageTV3 and the mtsa.jar file to the JARs folder.

4. Run SageTV and load the STVi (in the Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Advanced screen). This will copy your SageTV3.xml and the new stuff into SageTV3-1.xml and will load that new STV automatically.

I don't get step 4 at all ... so MovieTimes_Sage-6.3.4.xml is copied to SageTV3.xml automatically (just by opening the advanced menu?) and I don't need to LOAD the .xml file or IMPORT a .STVi file? I'm so confused?

Even if this would get past the dimmed lockup, how do I get to select SageMC-169.xml at the Advanced menu and have MovieTimes available with MC-169.xml?

sorry but my frustration maybe showing

In SageMC you're not importing a .STVI file, you,re importing an .xml file so be careful you pick the correct file. So you need to have SageMC_6_3_4a.xml LOADED as the .xml STV. And then you IMPORT the movietimes_6_3_4.xml file. It will copy movietmes_6_3_4.xml into your SageMC_6_3_4a.xml and it will now become SageMC_6_3_4a-1xml or whatever number you're at. The number increments for each import you do.

Thank you Gerry for trying to help me get the MovieTimes pluggin to work. I hate to admit what the problem was; but I was using the Detailed setup advanced menu to import the .xml file instead of the Import STVi menu on the settings page.

I was able to install the plugin and put a menu item on the main menu but after I configured the general options and set the locations, I receive an error when (re)Loading Theaters.

The error was mtsa.exe encountered a problem ...

I checked the .log files and my location did not stick. I reloaded the STVi and I still have the same problem

Maybe I don't need the movies times after all

Thank for all your help

I just noticed that when viewing movies, the movies no longer become highlighted. So there is no way of knowing which movie you are scrolling to. Am I missing a graphic somewhere? This happens with the default theme as well as the others.
Thanks,

Juc

I'm at a lost

I was able at one point to get Movie listings working in Media Portal

But I'm at a lost

I've gotten everything setup, I got the correct listings for my Theatres.

But when I run the msta.exe it goes and downloads all the information.

But when I check MSTA logs it states it's search Apple for trailers but never downloads anything!

Help!?

I am having the same problem. I've followed the directions and all seems good until I run MTSA.exe job. I've let it run overnight but it never finishes. The last 2 lines in the log say:
Code:
[AppleTrailers] Searching for trailers ...
	"Across the Universe"
Is something wrong with the source of the trailers?

Same issue for me. It downloads 1 trailer, then nothing else happens. Not even sure it completes the first trailer download either.

For now to get it working I have disabled the Trailers section and will try again when there is a fix

Once I disabled that option everything was working smooth again.

Did some more testing on this last night and with trailers enabled, it would download the first full trailer (310 to Yuma) but then appears to hang on the second trailer. Not sure if it cant find it, or what exactly is happening. The second trailer never gets created (no file created anywhere that I noticed). I believe the second trailer for me is "The Brave One". I've tried running the setup with HD1080, HD720 and HIGH as the trailer quality, none seem to find anything. On apple's site though, both the 720 and 1080P version trailer exist for this film.

Sounds like the problem is with mtsa.exe - I'll check it out.

Which MTSA version? I downgraded to 4.3.0 and it was mostly working, but might try 4.3.1 again if thats what you are running.

Yeah, it should be working again. Apple's site must have been temporarily down.

Which XML should we be using if we are using SageMC 6.3.5? They both seem to contain the same date information in the download.

MovieTimes_SageMC.xml
MovieTimes_SageMC-6.3.4.xml

This probably happened because you loaded the file rather than importing it. I am assuming your are using SageMC, though your sig seems to indicate you are using the default STV. If you are using the default STV, then substitue SageTV3.xml for SageMC_169.xml in the recovery instructions below. Then do not attempt to import this plugin again as it is only designed for use with SageMC.

To recover:
  • Shut down SageTV
  • Go to your ...\SageTV folder (it is C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV by default)
  • Find and open sage.properties in notepad. (Or open sageclient.properties if you are running in service mode or on a separate client computer)
  • Look a few lines down and find the line where the STV file is defined. It will probably show the movietimes .xml file there.
  • Change the filename back to SageMC_169.xml
  • Save and exit the file.
  • Restart SageTV
To import the plugin:
  • Go to the Settings screen and choose 'Import STVi'
  • Select the movietimes .xml file and press yes on the popup to proceed with the import.
That should do it.

Aloha,
Mike

I am using the default STV + neilms dynamic menu plug in.

I must be missing something though. you say to
Quote:
* Go to the Settings screen and choose 'Import STVi'
* Select the movietimes .xml file and press yes on the popup to proceed with the import.
But Import SAGETV Application Package (.STVi) files only shows .stvi files.

The one above that in the menu, SAGETV Application Package (.stv, .xml) shows the xml files.

So your instructions don't make sense to me...
