That didn't work. I'm pretty worried because I use this addon very frequently and it took me a while to make it even work in the first place. The movie 300 is repeated 3 times, and so are a couple of other entries. Once I nativate to one of the duplicate entries, I no longer have control of my mouse or arrow keys... the cursor just jumps back like a rubberband right to the duplicate entry. If I press my arrow keys over and over again up/down/left/right enough I can get out of it, but if I get out of that screen and go back in, it locks up my sagetTV client. I have to restart sageTV.exe

Please help!

Mkanet, something is strange there. In your screenshot, "300" does not even appear in the correct order. Do the duplicates show up next to each other and disappear when you navagate to it? (since I only see one in your screenshot). Does list view appear any differently? You could send a log file where you go to the movie list and navigate to "300". Do you see the same problems when you list movies for a specific theater?

I would also recomment zipping up your config.xml, locations.xml, ,moviedata.xml and moviedata.xsd and post that.

BTW, groovie background...

Thanks for getting back to my Morgan! I'm at work now. As soon as I get home, I'll post my answers to your questions. I will also send you all my configuration files.

Hi Morgan, I found an old copy of my movietimes folder with all the config files. When I replaced the one I have with this one, it no longer had duplicates. It just had some missing posters and movies. However, after I run the movietimes updater (outside of sageTV), then go back into sageTV, If I go to list movies or theaters, it just locks up my sageTV interface again. I'm hoping everything you need to figure out what's wrong is in the included zip file. Again, the included zip file works for me until I run the update to download trailers, posters, etc. I even tried to delete the moviedata.xml and moviedata.xsd files prior to running the update... and of course I didnt have sageTV in memory.

Thank so for helping me!
Michael

Michael,

Open your config.xml file with notepad. change the four references of C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\ to Z:\MovieTimes\ and save it. Rerun the movie updater, restart Sage, and see if that corrects your problem.

No, it doesn't fix the problem. Please see attached. I even deleted the moviedata files and let them recreate in the new location.

UPDATE: I removed all old entries in both properties files related to movietimes. I went into the configuration of movietimes in sageTV and configured the options again. The sageTVclient.properties got updated. I was able to get new movie posters to show up. But as soon as I went to change the number of columns, sageTV client froze up on me again. What the heck!? This is driving me nuts. How could it be so hard to make this work?

UPDATE: I loaded original SageMC (without any of the imports). I then loaded a clean movie times import. I am still getting the same behavior. The only big clue I can find I can make sageTV client lock up every time by changing either rows or columns of the movie posters to more than 2. The whole sageTV client locks up before it can even write to the the properties file. Morgan, this might be right up your alley since it looks like it might have to do with the MovietimesMC STVi/SageMC STV. I tried to change my theme to a generic theme that came with SageMC, but that didn't help either.

I'm so desperate I'm even willing to pay to get this fixed.

Problem Solved!

bcjenkins, you were pretty smart for knowing that the problem was related to java. I uninstalled my version of java and installed version 6 update 1. Now magically everything works. I think it might have even fixed another quirk I had in the interface.

Thanks so much for your help!

Good to hear you have it working. Perhaps there was conflict with combining some of the other JARs and that version of Java, although I don't know if have recent used 1.5. Seems like it has been either 1.4.x or 6.0 that I have been using mostly.

Installing

I'm having a load of trouble installing. I've got Sage 6.1.9.135 with Java 1.4.2_13 on SageMC 6.3.2c. After loading the files and creating the menus I cannot get a config file to stick or even edit the locations file. If I load a config and go back to load config file it tells me that none is found. I'll load the config file from aperry's install and try and edit the locations but loading the country and my zip doesn't seem to stick in the locations file. So that if I try and tell it to (Re)Load Theatre lists it gives me a windows error message and do i want to send an error report. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

This same exact thing happened to me... so I think I can help. I've always been the person asking for help here.. now, hopefully I can help back.

Two things you should try. For the life of me, in the past when i tried and tried I couldnt get the config to stick. In fact, I had to do an extreme way of forcing it to work by editing my config files/locations manually.

There are two things you need to try to fix this:

1) Select very generic paths for your mstc.exe, config file, trailers, posters, etc. Try c:\movietimes. This is ONLY for testing. If this doesn't fix it, then the second thing to try should fix it.

2) Uninstall Java. Reboot, Install the latest Java (Version 6, release 1).

right track

well you definitely got me on the right track i changed the folder from c:/Movie Times to c:/movietimes and updated java to 6 update 1. I was finally able to change the config file, but when I ran the mtsa.exe it faulted out and while it downloaded all the posters for the movies it seems to have taken my config.xml and locations.xml with it.

Try deleting the 2 moviedata.* files one of them has the extension of .xls. I cant remember the extension to the other file. Then, try running mtsa.exe again.

Those files are created by MTSA.exe and should be in the same folder after you run it. I'm not sure what could crash MTSA...

mtsa

Well then I must be royally screwed. I select only one theatre (make it simple) and turn off the previews (also to make it simple). When I double click on the mtsa.exe file it dies after about ten minutes, in the movietimes folder i'm missing my config and locations xmls they have been deleted and the folder now has all the posters and movie trailers from that theatre, although I told it to skip trailers.
