Hi,

i also wondered which is the best solution SDBA or mytheatre plugin. I just took the mytheatre plugin because at that day the website where the sdba network encoder could be downloaded were down. So i gave the mytheater plugin a shot and till now its fairly stable.

stabilty reports for dvb-c and SDBAR would be interesting for me. So if anyone has one ... feel free

Alexander

They are both very stable now. Many people use SBDAR and it works well, MyTheatre is pretty good too. Differences are: SBDAR is free, MyTheatre is not but uses DVBCore plugins. If you don't need the plugins, SBDAR is the one for you.

I've got SBDAR and German DVB-C running stable so far, with encrypted channels working fine. I'm still not sure what those "core functionalities" would be - not real easy to find out in the MyTheatre forums. So I'm happy - apart from the fact that I would want SageTV to support this all by itself.

FloppyDTV and Sage

Just thought I get in on this thread. I just installed a FloppyDTV with a Conax CAM for DVB-C. I am getting inconsistent behavior regarding channel switching. Sometimes (rather often, actually) I get "No signal" on channels that at other times tune without a problem.

I've tried with MyTheatre and do not seem to get this problem so now I am gonna look into the Mytheatre plugin. Anyone else had similar problems?

Best wishes

This seems to a general issue across dvb-c /t /s cards at the moment. Best bet is to raise a bug support.

firedtv dvb-t ; no issues

That would probably be the way to go. The thing is that the FireDTV-T worked like a charm with SageTV - therefore I was hoping that the DVB-C variant would behave the same - not the case though, it seems.

That's a shame, sounds like the dvb-c support is no really there yet. I hope they make dvb-c /s a priority now.

Well, FWIW, I haven't heard from support or development since that post I quoted. I'd be willing to test, and I understand the problem of testing with a signal that you can't get as a developer, but it seems to me Anders has solved the problems for them already.

Like alfiegerner said, I guess it's a problem of priorities. I'm sure Sage will get there sooner or later...
