mjpeg encoded avi's: no picture

This is a wierd one.

The movie files from my digital camera won't play through sage. They're encoded in mjped and are .avi files. They decode just fine through Windows media player. Everything is set to default in the setup menus. xvid encoded .avi's play just fine.

They did play a few days back, since then I tried turning sage server off to see if it would result in smoother playback of HD but have turned it back on again since it didn't make any difference. I can't think of any changes I've made since the last time I played them.

I've tried rebooting in case it was something silly but still no.

Did you ever get this working? I'm getting the same results, sound but no picture from MJPEG though Sage.
Oh, I'm running 6.1. They play though Placeshifter though.

Yes, I changed which codec that was being used. I have ffdshow and can't remember if turned off ffdshow's mjpeg codec support or turned it on, but I did one or the other and it worked.
