Studio won't launch

I can not get studio to launch... I've tried ctrl+shift+f12 and check the key configuration to confirm that is what it is supposed to be to launch it, tried changing it to something else, and it still doesn't work.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled with the latest official release and nothing... any ideas?

is your installed version licenced, or still in trial mode (studio does not work in trial mode)

Also are you using SageTV or SageTVClient and not SageTV placeshifter? If you are using placeshifter your Studio window is opening on the Server.

It is a licensed copy of the full SageTV (has a placeshifter license applied as well)

This is while using SageTV or SageTVClient on Windows?

If it is SageTV v6, is your original license from a version older than v5 & you need to also input the v6 upgrade key? It would be in trial mode until the upgrade key is also entered.

Your confirmation of the command was done in Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Show command linked to keystroke?

It is version 6, but my license is a version 5 license.

As a test I installed it on another system with the same license and it works fine, but it is my laptop with integrated video and some things I am trying to work with do not display properly on this system.

Just guessing, but is your laptop keyboard in some weird alternate-function mode in which F12 doesn't mean F12?

As usual, if all else fails, check your debug logs.

Also try alt-tabbing after engaging Studio. You might find the agreement dialog hiding behind Sage. After clicking OK Studio will start up fine.

No, it works on my laptop... it won't work on my HTPC. It is like it does absolutely nothing when the command in inputted. No hard drive spinning, no extra CPU usage... nothing.

I checked and rechecked and rechecked again the keystroke combination in the Sage Settings but it is not working.

What should I be looking for in the debug log?? I did a search for studio and came up with nothing.

When I launch Studio, I see a whole bunch of this sort of thing in my log:

Or you could enable logging on both machines and see what's different about them.

Laptop or desktop, try mapping a function key to some other command just to make sure it's not a keyboard issue. (My desktop keyboard has an Alt-function mode that I have to turn off to use the functions keys normally.)
