Why is V 6.1 not finding my imported Videos?

I decided to get placeshifter for the bedroom. So I upgraded Sage Media Cetner to 6.1 as well.

Since then its telling me there are no videos in my imported videos folder.

I removed the folder from the list and chose it again. I told it to rescan imported files. I have done this multiple times and reset and the same thing.

The directory I am using is a folder on my wifes PC on the network

It is a /video/ folder with several sub folders TV, ANIME etc.

I have no trouble accessing these files over the network and have tried reseting her system as well.

Any Ideas?

are you using mapped drives or UNC paths?

the path for the video import on mine looks like

\\servername\folder

its not a mapped drive.

just choosing direct link to the folder like I always have before.

sysname/drive/folder/folder

In fact I left it as I ahd it set before I upgraded. I only tried to change it when I noticed I no longer saw any of our imported videos.

Are you using service mode? If so, did you remember to reconfigure the user + password that the service logs in as after the upgrade installation?

Yes I did turn on service mode. Since I installed placeshifter on another pc.

So maybe we are getting somewhere now.

Where do I check this or set this. It had me set a username and password. I have not had to enter them since.

I do need service running to do placeshifter don't I?

No, service mode and turning on the server for remote clients are two different things. You don't have to run in service mode in order to enable the server in Detailed Setup.

When you run the installer, it will ask you if you want to run the service configuration utility after installation is complete. If you don't do that, you can run it yourself later on -- see p. 15 of the v6.1 PDF manual, found in your SageTV dir or in Setup -> Help -> View PDF Manual.
