USB-UIRT Problem
I recently switched from Comcast to Verizon FIOS. Originally I had the Comcast cable plugged directly into the nVidial Dual TV, I had both tuners setup in Sage and everything worked great. I also had my Comcast remote setup to change the channel in Sage via the USB-UIRT. Life was good, comast HD just sucked, hence the switch to FIOS.
Since switching to FIOS I had to get another Verizon digital box for Sage and re-hookup everything using SVideo and reconfigure my tuners (I see the video, so that is working). When I get to the part where I select use USB-UIRT (I have blaster extenders) I select USB-UIRT and the next screen has me push 0 on the remote, I keep pushing 0 but nothing happens in Sage. I've held it for quite some time but nothing happens, it stays on that same screen. I have closed Sage and started up Girder 3.3 (Girder wasn't running when I tried to setup Sage) and verified that I can 'learn' the remote codes from this remote in Girder, so I concluded the problem must lie in Sage. The only way Sage is going to work with my FIOS is if I can get the IR Blaster's to change the channel on the Verizon digital box. Is there anything I need to disable from my previous configuration of UIRT? Suggestions? On a side note, will Girder and Sage play nice together if I do run them both? I'd configure it so only the commands needed would blast to the proper 'channel' from the UIRT.

Did you run SageTV as a service ? Don't know if this is still an issue in 6.x, but I had the same problem with my very first SageTV installation, and once I ran the setup in non-service mode the problem disappeared... Dirk |

It sounds like you need to set the SageTV Service to run in the same user as the client rather than the default service user.

Version 6.1.6 changed the default STV to add Fork() calls in the AfterMenuLoad hooks before making the API calls to learn the IR codes, so try the latest v6.1 release.
