Question MVP and HDHomeRun

I just purchased an HDHomeRun last week. The setup was very easy, and I had no problems getting the channels mapped, but I have had some problems with playing back recorded shows on the MVP. I have also had problems transcoding SD and HD programs.

When recording SD digital broadcast when I play back the recording, and then stop the recording and come back latter sometimes the MVP is unable to play back the file. I get a blank screen with no audio. If I set the file as watched, then not watched to set the marker back to 0 then the file will play again from the begining without a problem.

When transcoding SD material the picture is ghosty as if the transcoder did a really bad job deinterlacing the video, but I used MPEG4 Good quality without the deinterlace option. Has anyone else seen this problem.

When transcoding HD material to MPEG4 Good quality on occassion the audio will be a couple of seconds out of sync with the video.

When recording Digital SD on occasion I am getting garbled video as if I do not have a good signal to the HDHomeRun, but when I look in the HDHomeRun config utility I have very good siginal.

Any help on these issues would be really helpful. I am very confused with some of these issues, because live TV with the HDHomeRun is working great, but recording, play back of recorded material and transcoding of recorded material has been awful.

Thanks,
Josh

I have seen this and other misc. problems playing the .ts type files on the MVP. I believe these are known issues and are being worked on. When I encounter a file that the MVP cannot handle I just watch it using the Sage Client program on one of my computer. Other strange issues I have seen on the MVP is sometimes when skipping forward it will skip all the way to the end. Sometimes a recorded program will cause the MVP to play live TV instead of the recorded program. If a program has been watch and you want to backup to watch the end again you have to go all the way back to the start and then skip forward to the desired locations. These issues are a pain when they occur I do not see them very often.

The biggiest problem for me is that the HDHR occasionally will a record a bad file that hangs SageTV. I thought they had this fixed but I hit it again on Saturday.

It is nice to know that I am not the only one seeing these problems. Hopefully once they have drivers that integrate with sage natively this will nolonger be a problem. Does anyone have a workaround for these issues.
