Anybody up for an adventure, give this a shot, it seems to work. Just extract it to your SageTV directory. You'll need gkusnick's latest Studio tools for the import to work.

So far it's looking good. Whoops-spoke too soon. When trying to define the path for the DVD Profiler database I have this installed on a client but I'm reading the server directories. When I specify the path it says it doesn't exist but I tell it to create it. It never does so I can't put in the correct path. I have the correct path defined from SageMC and that uses the mlbdude property. I don't see a property in there for yours. And I'm running DVD Profiler 3 and I'm on Vista.

EDIT:OK-it took the path the second time around.

OK. I'll do more testing later tonight. I think that path was in there from a SageMC install. I'm surprised it just didn't pick it up. I'll also check to see how performance is on about 400 DVD info import.

Hey Stanger,

Quick question on IVL0.9 - I'm trying to set it up on my Sage-WHS box and there is no client built-in to this version. If setting it up on a client machine, do I extract the .zip file on the client, or on the server and then map a drive to load the .stvi? And finally, I assume it's correct to put GKusnick's tools on the server, correct?

You would put it on the client from which you will use the STV. So for that means the client for SageClient, or the server for Extenders/Placeshifter.

The studio tools are used to import the STVi and link it to the existing STV, so they go wherever you want to import the STVi.

I originally had it all in one Zip file, but it was too big to attach.

There's a little i (info) looking icon that shows up it you're in the DVD view of the Videos screen.

edit: it shows up at the bottom, on the left.

i think i do, i downloaded it and unrared it to the stv and gkusnick.sagetv folders. I then installed the 0.9 ilv

the I icon shows up when i select a title but not in the dvd area.

do i need to do anything to "activate" the studio tools?

when i select a title and hit the i i do get to path to dvd profiler and the xml, but all i see is collection not found, and there is no "import offline" etc options, just two path settings

Which STV are you using, IVL doesn't put anything in the "title" area.

You need to restart the sage instance you're installing it on (ie client or whatnot).

IVL doesn't have any import offline options.

i just reread your response.

Maybe i am doing the completely wrong thing.

i have a 750 dvd library (all offline) that i have entered in dvd profiler. I am trying to set that up to browse my offline content. That is what this tool does, right?

Ah, I thought you meant the title detailed info menu. Looks like it's working right to me.

No, it allows importing metadata from DVD Profiler for titles you have on your HDD. The SageMC STV has an offline DVD library function (which uses DVD Profiler).

I am using this plug-in too. Thanks for taking the time to do it!

I am having a small issue. The DVD Profiler info is imported correctly and everything seems to work. However, after some time passes it looks like the data is lost on some folders, because the DVD profiler information goes away.

Could this be caused possibly by a Sage re-scan of the media folders? What causes Sage to re-import data on a re-scan?

I had trouble with this forever. Do I need to import something you done or is everything I need in SageMC?

Is there a guide on this? I usually work on this and then give up.

I am blind so just try to point me in the right direction if you can

Thanks for any help.

Sage changed something "recently" that they will blow away imported metadata if you don't assign a custom External ID, IVL was simply reusing the sage-generated External ID, apparently I never uploaded the version that uses the DVD Profiler ID.

It's part of SageMC, don't import IVL into SageMC, there's no telling what might happen.

There might be a guide in the SageMC section, but that's about the extent of my knowledge, I don't use SageMC.
