Watch x264 content in Mac Sage Client?

Hey guys,

I have numerous HD x264 encodes (.mkv's) that don't seem to play in the Mac version. I know you guys seem to be using ffmpeg (Mplayer) to do all the decoding on OS X so is this just something that is unlikely to work for now?

Thanks,

Are the files not showing up in the library or not playing? I don't think .mkv files are imported by default, add the extension to the seeker/video_library_import_filename_extensions property in Sage.properties. Make sure you stop the server via the prefs panel first. The file is located in /Library/Application Support/SageTV/Data, you may need administrator access to modify it.

I was able to play a .mkv file with a 720p h.264 encoded video track through the client.

If it's not playing, can you post a link to a sample clip?

The files show up, and when I hit play, the audio works but the video just showed a black screen.

I will give it a few more tries, one being plugged in rather than wireless and then post a clip.

Cheers,

Keep in mind that there's probably a good reason .mkv files aren't enabled by default, so YMMV. In any case, I'd be interested in seeing a short clip if it doesn't work for you.
