Placeshifter Mac no picture

Placeshifter Mac has suddenly stopped displaying a picture. I get interface, guide, playback overlay, sound, but just a black screen/window.

Same results connecting to more that one server.

Suggestions?

Placeshifter Mac 6.2.4

SageTV Server PC 6.1.9.135

&

SageTV Server PC 6.2.4.145

Placeshifter black screens both server's video content, sound plays fine, interfaces are fine, only the video is not rendering to screen.

Video playback is fine with SageTV Client Mac from the same computer.

The TCP ports: 7760, 7818, 42024, 31099, 31100, 8018, on the firewall are open.

I am running 6.2.4 Windows server and 6.2.4 Mac PS which is running fine.

Also fine from linux server 6.2.4. Can you provide more info? Did this just start happening? Does it happen if you use another user account on your Mac? What kind of Mac? What kind of material for playback? What type of connection are you running on?

yeah, i had similar problems when i'd fiddled around with the settings. Try running as a difference user as bcjenkins says. If that works (and you are comfortable with terminal) blow away the dot file in your bad users home directory

Yes, it started happening just recently, it worked for some time before that.

I tested the other user account technique, and it does infact work on the other 'default setting' account.

For the sake of thouroughness the issue is on a Mac Book Pro 17" 2.33 Duo, any video content recorded by SageTV, 802.11n at 130Mbps connection.

So what is this dot file brewson refers to?

If you open terminal, you can find the SageTV files in your home directory. If you don't mind setting up your servers and other preferences again, type:

Code:
rm -Rf .sagetv
This will remove all configuration files for the user account.
