I got round this by placing an image/cover inside the same folder as the file and both have the exact same name.

Their is also a modification you can make to the sage.properties file which will correct the problem. Trouble is I cannot find the post which tells you what to change.

I'll find it sooner or later and when I do I'll post it here, unless someone else beats me to it.

Jabroni:

have you tried what I said a few posts up???
while sage is down (and sage service too), set:

video_thumbnail_extraction_time_offset_sec=0

This should do the trick for you

Mkv's are playing ok through my MVP with v6.3.5. However, all my mkv's play with a kind of consistent, slight, rapid, jerkiness.

It's a different flavor of jerkiness than high CPU usage/disk access would produce. The best way I can describe it is as if every other frame is being skipped. Too few frames skipped to heavily distort the vids, but just enough so it's noticeable. Anyone else seeing this, or do your mkv's play just as smooth as your other formats?

I'm seeing exactly the same thing on version 6.2.10. Sometimes the mkv files won't even start playing. I know it's not for lack of CPU resources (E6600 @ 3.6Ghz with 2Gb RAM). They play great on the server/client.

Mkv's weren't officially supported through the MVP until v6.3, so I'll bet upgrading to the latest release will at least make them playable. Let me know if they look consistently jittery though.
