ATI All-in-Wonder Pro Sound Issues

Has anyone come up with a solution to the sound sync problems with SageTV using an ATI All In Wonder Pro card? I know it is software based, but just wondering if it is worth fooling around with. The ATI TV software that came with the card works ok, but it does not has the extensive features that Sage has.

Is the sound going into an input that is being used as the input for the recording? i.e.: does the recorded file contain audio. SageTV records anything being played, then plays it back, so the audio has to be included in the recording, while some other apps may be playing the audio & video live, so they aren't getting mixed into a recorded file anyway.

You may know this already, but you'll get a better quality recording from a hardware encoder & you could use multiple tuners since their cpu usage is much lower.

Yes, I understand the benefits of hardware based encoders, but I'm trying to make use of what I have at the moment.

The ATI card has an audio out that I connect with a short patch cord to the Line In on my soundcard. Sage records ok, but even when watching live tv, the sound is always ahead of the video.
