Add "Add to Playlist" Button

At the moment when I listen to my music collection, I have to navigate through about 4 screen (from the main menu) to add a song im listening to a playlist (i.e. Favourites Playlist). I basically have to go:

1. Show queue
2. Scroll to song that is currently playing
3. Hit enter
4. Select View Album
5. Find the currently playing song in that album
6. Hit Enter
7. Select Add to Playlist
8. Select my Favourites Playlist
(9. Or if I already added something to the Favourites playlist before, I can just select "Add to Favourites Playlist" in step 7).

The above is so cumbersome, its not funny.

How can I add a button/option to the Now Playing screen which says "Add to Playlist" and it will basically execute steps (7) - (9) above.

I think I will have to use Studio so I was wondering whether I could just copy and paste the functions that call steps (7) - (9) into a new Button/command on the now playing screen.

IS this possible? I already tried doing it in Studio, but wasnt sure exactly how to do it, and didnt want to break anything!

Or is there an easier way to add songs to playlists?

Thanks in advance.

You want to add the currently playing song to a different playlist, but you are on some menu where the song isn't listed, is that right?

About the quickest way I can think of is:

Jump to the playback screen via the "TV" command (not the "Live TV" command).

Use the Options command, select "Song Details", select the "Options" button on the Song Detail screen, then add the song to some playlist.

Use the Back command twice to return to where you were.

Thanks Opus, I'll try doing that - sounds pretty straight forward.

Sure is, since the info I posted is for the default STV.

In the future, please post in the customizations section (where this topic has been moved now) when using a custom STV and mention it in your post and/or title. You'll be much more likely to get a response that is meaningful.

My apologies, didn't realise (am a new Sage user, still learning )

p.s. worked out why it wasnt working - i had alternate Vis enabled instead of Standard. Standard vis + your method works like a charm, thanks.

That was just plain luck, then, since the interfaces are quite different... I don't use SageMC at all, so I find it funny that the suggestion ended up working.
