Large deployment advice

We're already in contact with Sage sales looking for some advice regarding a potential deployment, but thought I'd seek out the same from you folks who have actually done it in the real world

Here's the basics:

Being deployed in a medical office environment.

20 'clients' consisting of basic pc workstations (P4 2-3Ghz, 512 Ram, Gig Ethernet).

Sage 'Server' does not exist yet, can be anything needed (but no overkill)

Need to customize interface/menu that each client sees to simplify the selections available, effectively narrowing it down to select from a) Live TV b) Videos (which will exist on a network share) c) Images (also on network share) and d) Launch/Switch To an external program

No "PVR" functions actually needed, e.g. will not be using system to record TV programs. Simply need to be able to display 2-4 different live channels across the various clients. So technically no EPG needed either.

Will never actually have all 20 clients viewing live tv at the same time, will most likely be far, far less than that at any one time but hard to estimate the 'max' number.

Need to control via remote control at each client


That's the basics. Anyone out there running anything close to this, on either the interface customization side of things or the hardware/software side. If so what combination of server/clients are you using, the tuner config, network environment, etc. and have you had any major issues? Difficulty of menu/interface customization?

Would much appreciate any real-world advice you can offer.
