Unable to stop sage

Doesn't matter if it's in the hung up state or not, I'm not able to stop sage server. As root I type

root@dilbert:/opt/sagetv/server# ./stopsage
Changing to SageTV directory /opt/sagetv/server/.

After several minutes looking at the processes still shows sage running:

root@dilbert:/opt/sagetv/server# ps -ef | grep java
root 10563 1 2 Oct18 ? 00:33:31 java -Dsage.paths.tools=/opt/sagetv/server -Djava.awt.headless=true sagetv Sage.properties
root 12350 12331 0 12:44 pts/0 00:00:00 grep java

Here is the log.

Problem solved

The problem was with the ivtv capture card. The buffers were filling up it would seem.

Logs are attached.

Added this to /etc/modprobe.conf/options

options ivtv mpg_buffers=64

Which version of Java? Whenever I run Java 1.6, I have symptoms like that. Under Java 1.5 it goes away. Thanks for the tip on the buffers.

Java Version

It was working perfectly with 1.6.0_1 with STV 6.1. When I upgraded to the lastest sage the problem started. Suspecting Java, I upgraded that to 1.6.0_3 but there was no change.

I never considered downgrading Java.

Going on two days now and the problem seems to have been cleared up with the buffers option. But if it reappears I will try Java 1.5.
