playing H.264 files with Ac3 or EAC3

Does anyone have this issue or Can anyone tell me why Sage insists on playing my h.264.AC3/EAC3 files using mplayer/sagetvplayer even though I have turned it off through the sage menu and verified in the sageclient.properties.

I find this rather high on the PITA facter, because I made sure it works great and plays in WMP11, Cyberlink player and MPC. using the decoders I want to use. Its just Sage feels the need to use it own player even with I turn it off. Its kinda like using a car with traction control turned off but in reailty its still on and you still Curse the manufacture !

It just pisses my off. Has anyone else noticed this before I have a chat with Sage support?

You can always set the property always_use_directshow_player=true (not sure if this is exactly what it is called). This will use directshow merits for filter selection for all media. This works great for most things, but I could never find a directshow FLV splitter that does not have timeline issues with youtube and google videos.

I think Sage might be pushing off 100% off mkv files to SageTVPlayer regardless of your preferences. I'd file a bug report/service request to Sage rather than post in the forums; you'll get your answers that way.

Edit: Looks like i'm wrong, ignore this post :-P

always_use_dshow_player=true

Did the trick thanks talbot3

when I turn off "always_use_dshow_player", even if you have mplayer disabled, the Sage Client still runs sagetv player even though its disabled. I'll still let support konw about it.

thanks
