r5000 recordings (SD & HD) won't play on MVP

Title says it all. I understand h.264 recordings not playing.

If I try and watch an SD stream (mpeg2) the first 5-10 seconds seem to play and then the picture freezes.

The same MVP plays transcoded .avi files fine.

The same r5000 SD programs play fine on my Mac Placeshifter, just not on the MVP.

SageTV 6.3.0

I should add that previously, using an earlier version of SageTV I could stream r5000-hd SD and MPEG-2 HD programs.

I just posted the same thing about recordings from my firewire stb. They only play on pc-based platforms (server, cliet and placeshifter), but not MVPs, i get the same 10 seconds and freeze. I haven't gone to 6.3 yet.

new beta doesn't seem to change anything for this problem. For me though, it may only be one channel, Noggin 148. I recorded a movie from TBSHD, and it played fine on one mvp. Going to experiment some more with other channels.

I *think* it may be TSSplitter.ax. Let me check on this. I seem to remember plugging in a different version of this with success a while back.

Not seeing this issue here...

I am running the latest beta (6.3.1) and streaming DISH R5000 recordings to an MVP is working. It isnt working perfectly, shows start at wrong point in stream but FF/REW seems to get picture back.

Got any configuration settings that you would like to compare?

I use all the stock, recommended r5000 settings, including:

seeker/fast_mux_switch=false
videoframe/fast_file_switching=false

What other settings might be relevant?

at the risk of jinxing myself, i appear to be up and running, although i am using straight firewire from a moto box, not r5000 (until they throw the 5c switch on me...)

i sent a snippet of my error log to sage beta support, and they suggested this:

enable_internal_push_remuxer=false

It was set to true, so this seems to have been my problem. Didn't change anything else. Watched a few minutes of some problem shows on both a wired and wireless mvp, no issues. Hope that helps somebody, and I hope I'm not back here tomorrow diagnosing some other problem that I just caused with this change!

I notice some issues with audio/video sync after a few minutes of playback with this setting. Also, quality looks a lot worse than before. It looks like it's being transcoded with low quality instead of just being passed through to the MVP.

Thx
Mike
