placeshifter screen all black

I have two different computers now that have placeshifter installed and when it starts up the screen is all black. I don't see anything and I can't do anything.

One is a Mac and I even uninstalled Placeshifter and installed it from scratch again and it came up all black again.

I have been playing around with sageMC and it might be related to that but I can't figure out how to get back to a good state. Please help.

I looked for the sage.properties file but it doesn't seem to exist in a placeshifter.

thanks
Greg

i had that last night with PS and my extenders. Restarting the server fixed it for me.(not even a fullreboot, just stop and restart the sage service)

That didn't fix it for me.

What did fix it for me was I found where the server stores the client settings and I deleted the files.

The server stores the client settings in

C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\clients

there is an xml file and a backup. Could have tried to restore the backup but I haven't invested much effort into the two clients so it was easier to just nuke the files.

The clients now start up fine and I have to reconfigure them.

I don't have to re-enable the hidden menus though. I thought i would.

Thank you very much for sharing this! After many years I encountered this very same problem and the forum search and your advice really saved my day!
