S3 + Vista = No sleep for Sagetv

Hi,

I just "upgraded" one of my clients to vista business. With energy costs what they are I am trying to get this client to suspend to S3 when not being used.

So far I can get the pc to suspend and the usbuirt to wake it up just fine. The problem occurs after resuming from S3. When using sagemce I would get very choppy video playback and no audio until I completely exited and restarted sage. I went back to the default STV and I now get good video playback and sound. I then dicovered that after waking from S3 sage would no longer go into sleep/standby mode. Everything else works just fine. If I close and restart sage then standby will work until the pc goes into S3 again.

I tried un-installing and then re-installing sage client without using any of the old props files but I still got the same behavior.

Any help is appreciated.

Jesse

You're not using FSE are you? Try disabling "Hybrid Sleep" in the power saving options.

Hi GT,

No FSE. I went with vista to avoid the need for FSE. Hybrid sleep mode is disabled. I found that hybrid sleep mode would prevent the usbuirt from waking the pc.

I did more testing last night and I think the problem could be related to the macro commands my remote is sending when I wake the pc. I think the problem may be sending commands to sage while it is re-connecting to the server. I will need to do more testing tonight.

Thanks for your help.

Jesse
