screen saver problem

not sure if anyone else has come across this but i seem to have encountered a new problem where for whatever reason sage tries to go into screen saver mode during playback of media.

if i set the screensaver inactivity to 5 minutes and tune a channel the chennel will play fine for exactly 5 minutes and then the screen will go blank (no sage screen saver logo) - hitting the play button on the remote will resume playback.

if i change the SS timeout to 2 hours then it doesn't seem to happen at all?

it's not a big deal but i watch most of my tv on plasma so i like my screen saver to kick in pretty quickly when i pause and this is a no go right now.

What kind of client is this, what version, etc?

And, be sure to report it to SageTV in case the solution isn't obvious in the forum.

it's my main sage pc setup - not a client box (though i do have mvp's connected to it) and the problem only occurs on playback through that pc.

the software version is 6.3.4 beta.

i'll update to the release version tonight but i was more interested to see if anyone else has experienced something like this?

i'd like to say that it was after installing the beta but unfortunately i swapped ram and added firewire channel changing at the same time so it complicates the trouble shoot just a little bit.

Oh -- I also just noticed that you said the screen went blank instead of seeing the SageTV logo... I think that means the Windows screen saver is kicking in. I don't know why SageTV wouldn't be keeping that disabled during playback.

i have windows screen saver disabled and changing the screen saver timeout values in sage also corresponds with the amount of time it takes for the screen to go blank.

it's really not a huge deal and it's probably something stupid that i caused myself but i will update to 6.3.5 tonight and see if it persists before filing a trouble report.
