Menus but no video or audio
When I connect at home locally or through the internet everything works fine. When I connect from work, I can log in and navigate through the menu and video lists but no programs work. I get the following error.
There was a playback error in playback. Details: sage.Playbackexception I've tried to watch live tv, saved shows and imported AVIs. Any ideas on what to try? Thanks Bill |

1.) I uninstalled all Java from the system. 2.) I downloaded and installed Java v5, Update 14. 3.) After a reboot Placeshifter worked like a champ. Remember, this PC is running 98se, not XP or Vista. Bill |

Anything newer than Windows 98 you'll want to get the latest java 1.0.6_3.

I'm having the exact same issue. I've been using sage for a while and now wanted to try the placeshifter functionality. I updated Java, directx, disabled the firewall and still nothing. I'm going to try upgrading to latest rc and see if it fixes it. I'm running it on a windows xp pro laptop with intel integrated graphics over my university's intranet if any that matters. If I can't figure it out soon, I submit an official support request.

If it is your University's intranet they probably have port 31099 blocked. It has to be open between your ps client and whever your SageTV server is. And your SageTV server needs to have an IP address that is accessible from the Internet through port forwarding.

To resurrect an old thread, I'm trying to get the Placeshifter working at work. I can connect and navigate through the menus, but I just get a blank screen and no audio when I try to play anything back. My machine runs JRE 1.6.0_05.
The documentation implies that TCP port 31099 is used for both the menus and streaming video. If that's true, it seems like if the menus work, the video ought to. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? In the meantime, I can stream via the webserver, but then I can't fast forward. |

Nope, I haven't figured it out. I assume it's a firewall issue.
