HD Extender Audio Issues

Using HDMI Audio.
HD-100 plugged directly into TV.

On HD channels, if I am watching Live TV (ie as close to live as possible in Sage) often I will get no audio at all. Skipping back once so that I am just a few seconds behind "live" restored audio.

HD comes from HDHR. Anyone else seeing this? An easy way to reproduce is get to live TV on an HDHR channel and then skip forward.

btl.

I'm also using HDMI, and have a couple ATI 650 cards capturing OTA. No problems with audio at all on live feeds. If you record and play it later do you get audio?

One odd thing I noticed is if I watch a recorded video and pause it at the end (like during the credits) and then go find another movie to watch and play it, I get the sound from the new selected movie but the picture is stuck at the previous paused image until I hit stop and go back to select the new one again.

Read this thread:

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29143

bottom line: record as MPG (program stream) instead of .TS (transport stream). Something wrong with the way the HD Extender handles live .TS from the Hdhomerun.

I'm already set to true on that property. And all my recordings are .mpg, so it appears to be working.

I get audio - but only if I am not "live". Skipping backwards just 5 seconds restores audio. This only happens on HD, and only from HDHR tuners (all I have for HD).

Happens in both the default STV and SageMC.

I'll open a bug.

... wasn't there a comment about stuttering during live TV playback? I was told this is something known & is being worked on. For now, you can either pause briefly before continuing playback, or try setting this property:
videoframe/local_encoding_to_playback_delay=1000

Wonder if that is related to your problem as it sounds like the extender does not much like to play 'live' shows. I have not noticed it unless i pause or rewind a show i am watching live, then attempt to forward back to actual live. This is when i start seeing the stuttering in both video and audio. This is using a couple HVR-1600s to record HD from an attic antenna tho, so not exactly your problem, but might be related.

That sounds just like what I see - going forward to 'live' almost always triggers it.
