Control Media MVP from PC

Is it possible to control a Media MVP directly from the PC? Here is my dilemma. I have an iPAQ RX1955 that I get absolutely no use out of. I thought about writing my own Remote Control software or purchases one. The iPAQ however has a very limited IR distance, and I cannot find a IR Extender that is compatible. So, I thought about creating a web service to run on my SageTV pc that would control a MediaMVP. Then I could write a .NET application for my iPAQ that calls the web service. I am not sure how performance would be, but first I need to be able to figure out how to control a Media MVP from my PC.

I too use Niel's webserver for this, it's crazy cool.

I use it with wget dunno if thats okay on Ipaq.
