Multiple Tuner juggling favorites

I was wondering if there was a way to prevent SageTV from juggling on which tuner a favorite is being recorded.

I don't have an ir blaster so I manually program my stb to the channels as per my recording schedule. Unfortunately, every now and then SageTV redoes the scheduling and I end up taping the wrong show.

I know this doesn't really answer your question, however for $35-$40 you can get an MCE remote with IR Blaster that works great when setup with StephaneM's software. Probably save yourself a lot of frustration.

You could try fiddling with the encoder_merit properties to see if that makes things more predictable. But there's no way to assign specific tuners to specific favorites. The whole point is to allow Sage to assign tuners flexibly to accommodate scheduling changes. Really your best solution is to get an IR blaster and let Sage change the channels as it was designed to do.

Get an IR blaster you are really making a massive headache to save $50. The reason it changes the scheduling is it looks far enough ahead to realize conflicts and make dynamic changes to ensure the most you want gets recorded with the least tuners. Sometimes this will mean not recording the actual first airing.

I have one, I got it with an Hauppauge MCE PVR150 but I'm having trouble getting Vista Home Premium to recognize the blaster. The drivers for the device is found in Windows but none of the programs I've tried are able to find the blaster.

I guess I'll have to keep wrestling with it.

Thanks
