I would love to try the new watch it now player it was never possible before because my setup only uses remote and I don't feel like setting up girder, the only thing is that I have and have had for some time problems getting watch it now to work it crashes my IE and when I look at the crash data it seems there is some problem with 'indiv01.key' if anyone knows what this could be in reference to or a way to work around it or fix it I would really appreciate the help

There's a fix for this. It's probably a DRM issue.

Warning: This fix will wipe the DRM "store" clean. This means you will lose any DRM rights for paid for/obtained specific licenses for materials that were DRM'd. You've been warned.

Do Start>Run> and paste the following:
Quote:
c:\Program Files\Netflix\Netflix Movie Viewer\ResetDRM.exe
And hit enter. This will reset your DRM and once complete you should be able to view watch-now again. Test in an IE browser first before this plugin to make sure it worked.

Yes, I am able to update my queue and see details just fine, but even with this new version I'm still not able to view any results by browsing watch it now and dvds.

Everything else seems to be working as intended. Search, details, queue, channels, ect..

Thumbs up

I got all my issues cleared up it actually took installing sp3 updating device drivers and that nice little drm reset mentioned earlier the plugin works great I can't wait this plugin to get even better great work. I do have some issues with sagetv gui crashing after about 15 minutes of viewing a movie so after you get into it you lose control since sagetv is dead the server still runs in background but the client crashed always around the same time into a movie had to c-a-d to kill netflix viewer then restart sagetv not a real problem perse since this was just released today just a minor annoyance at least and once again thanks for all the hard work

I too have this issue, if I use the current plugin, but instead of the modified viewer, just use IE, everything is fine, on playback I can return to sage just fine, just no remote functionality. With the modified viewer I can use the remote for a short period of time, even return to sage, but after that, no dice.

Another odd thing I am experiencing is I no longer can browse DVD's or Watch it Now, but if I search for a title, I can bring up the details watch it now, and add to my queue .

It worked well for the first go around, but after watching my first movie it did not work. Should I when re loading the STVi should I as well remove all references to plugins/NetFlix/ from the Sage Properties file? Because I have about 523 lines referncing this plugin, and growing.

Just as an FYI the only other STVi I use is the Small miniguide by bialio. Sage is 6.3.10, and the latest SageMC.

Looks like something on Netflix's side changed on the Watch-Now stuff. I can't browse watch-now titles with the plugin now either and could earlier yesterday and the week before when testing.

When I was searching around and found many others with this problem, I did come across the DRM Reset utility. I tried it but found it didn't fix me up. I never tried playing a movie with just a VGA monitor connected though. I found (maybe on your blog!) that the DRM didn't want you to output to anything digital or "good" quality. Maybe I can make a ghost image and try SP3. I hate to go down the SP3 route right now. The latest NVidia drivers above .163 (I think, any of the .17xx) broke my video output on S-Video, but I am using DVI out now so maybe I can try those again.

Thanks!

The new version generally works great, but I'm having one strange problem with the custom Netflix Viewer. As soon as the video starts playing (after the buffering stage), the Windows focus switches back to SageTV. The video continues to play in the background, and I can control the video with the remote (pause, etc.) If I alt-tab the focus back to the viewer, the focus immediately reverts back to Sage. This happens every time, and only with the custom viewer. (The IE viewer works fine.)

Anybody else having this issue? Any idea what's causing it?

You might have seen this post by Davis Freeberg. He goes into the problems with Netflix DRM in more detail. There is a limitation with the quality of monitor working with Netflix Watch-Now if I remember correctly

Is anyone having issues with FF/REW? When I hit FF/REW on my remote, nothing happens except for the OSD displaying. They only start to work several minutes later when the whole movie is 100% downloaded/buffered.

I dont have any issues in Internet Explorer.

Exactly the same thing here. Worked great early yesterday, went to show to my wife in the evening, and no browse. I can search, but no browse. Also the channel display works, but without browse-watch-now, it's tough to tell what's a watch-now and what's not.

Yeah, this will require a fix from Morgan. I've already e-mailed him to let him know. That's the folly of screen-scraping...

I'm starting to thing that NetFLix may show some alternate view to some customers and a different view to others. I will create a test in order to capture that data from those that have the browsing problem.

You may be correct. Because I installed your update awhen you released it and just tested it 5 minutes ago. Everything is working. I have DVDs and Watch Nows and they all work including trailers.
