6.3.9 and duplicate imported videos

I had this problem with 6.3.8 and 6.3.9 (I didn't notice if earlier 6.3.x's also had it). Imported videos and ripped DVDs appear twice under Media Center. If I remove the file then the newer entry disappears but the older one remains. I have removed all import media directories via setup but entries still appear for any imported media files that existed prior to the upgrade to 6.3.8. While I have found that I can move the files and then delete the video entries, there is no delete option for ripped DVD's.

I have read through the forums and the manual. Unless anyone has any ideas or can point me to something I have missed, I guess my next step is a bug report.

When you go to the Video Detail screen for an imported video that is left over, does its file path near the bottom of the detailed info point to the actual file, or to a location where the file used to be?

If the path goes nowhere, try exiting SageTV and making sure this property is set to true in Sage.properties:
make_all_mediafiles_local=true

It may already be true... if nothing else works, then maybe try doing a full reindex of the imports:

1. Exit SageTV and make a backup of wiz.bin
2. Set this property in sage.properties: force_full_content_reindex=true
3. Restart SageTV and give it time to check all the imports.
4. Exit SageTV, and set that property back to false: force_full_content_reindex=false
5. Restart SageTV

If that doesn't do it, contact SageTV.

I experienced the same issue since 6.3.6 and the only thing that made things right was

make_all_mediafiles_local=true.

Thanks for the feedback -- I think that property was set to false from its previous setting in older/existing properties files, since its default value was true for a while now. Based on the feedback in this & other recent posts, we'll just assume it is always true & ignore those old settings so this shouldn't happen in future versions.
