setup wizard trouble with hauppage 1600

I am very new to all of this recording stuff on the computer, so go easy on me LOL.

I have a Hauppage HVR 1600 that I have installed on my computer. I'm running Vista Home Premium. I'm trying to receive a signal from a satellite box that I have installed with the composite adapter in the S-video port.

When I run the setup wizard and get to the Source Wizard Summary, I click on "Add New Source." It then gives me two options:
Hauppage WintTV 418 Video Capture
Hauppage WinTV 418 TS Capture
When I click on the video capture choice and then choose S-video for the device input, it just sits there and does nothing. It says, "Loading Preview. Please wait..." except it goes on forever doing this.
If I click on the TS capture, it asks for a digital TV tuner, which I don't have, so I guess that is not the right selection either.

I searched and found someone with a semi-similar problem, but the replies were all Greek to me...
