placeshifter vs client license question

OK, I've read the descriptions of Placeshifter and Client, but am not sure which one is for me.

I've been a SageTV user for a long time. I've had a SageTV box for several years now, and am finally moving everything to a WHS (Sage install, tuners, etc...) and need to get a new license to go back onto my HTPC. It'll be a Sage Client, and for playback of DVD, HD, and BR (already doing that now, so it's nothing new).

This will also be the ONLY client I setup, as the rest of my TV's will use HD Extenders (now that they are back on sale....yipee!).

The main advantages of placeshifter are access from just about anywhere (home and away), and ability to schedule recordings....where as the client does not have those features.....right?????

Do the Client and Placeshifter have the same SageTv type interface or is the Placeshifter more of a web interface?

Edit - OK, maybe I should just get the Placeshifter since both licenses are the same price. I've downloaded the demo's but have not had a chance to try them out.....Maybe I should do that first....D'oh !!!

Ok... I'm just going for the Placeshifter client.


I just configured it and tested it and it's SCHWEEET !!!! That was a lot less painful as I was imagining it to be.
