Jumping to a specific time in a video during playback - how?

I have been through the User Guide and didn't see how to do this. Forgive me if its there and I missed it.

In BTV, during playback, I can type a series of numbers and press Enter. BTV then jumps to that time point in the video and continues playing back.

For instance, I have a 3 minutes of padding set at the begining of all my recordings. So, when there are not back to back recordings, the recording starts 3 minutes early and I want to jump 3 minutes in when I start watching. So, I hit 3 and Enter and it jumps to 3 minutes. I also use this as fast way to restart the video by hitting 0 and enter.

Is there a way to do this in STV? I haven't seen any reference to it. In fact, it seems like the number keys don't do anything during video playback.

Check the List of available customizations; there is a link for an old customization: Media Player Custom Skip Forward/Back. I don't know whether it still works in v6.3, but I think it does what you are looking for.

BTW: SageTV automatically starts playback when the show was scheduled to begin, not at the beginning of the pre-show padding. You can rewind into the padding, if needed, but playback doesn't start there.

I am still using it with 6.3x on both my HD Extenders and was using in on my MVP prior to getting the 2nd HD Extender.

It still seems to work fine. I was the user who nudged BobPhoenix into writing it in the beginning and did much of the Beta Testing.
I wanted it so that I could mimic the features that my ReplayTV had that allowed me to custom skip forward/back or anywhere in a recording.
