Capture Devices Gone After Reboot

I removed my Divco FusionHDTV card over the weekend and installed a ROCKETRAID controller card. Before removing the Fustion card I uninstalled the software and rebooted. After installing the RAID card the system performed well for the rest of the weekend.

This afternoon it crashed with what looked like a permissions issues accessing the media share. I rebooted the box, started SageTV and all of my tuners are gone.

On a related note it does not appear that Fustion cleaned up all the driver entries properly. I was getting the "The FusionHDTV 88x, WDM Crossbar service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified." error until I went into Autoruns and deselected the "system32\drivers\zl88xbar.sys" so it would not try and load it.

I am running the latest version 6.3.10 with 2 PVR250 and 1 PVR350 cards loaded.

See if the tuners are listed on the mmc/ignore_encoders property line in sage.properties. If they are, make sure SageTV is not running, make a backup copy of the properties file, edit sage.properties to remove that property line, then restart SageTV.

Thanks Andy, I checked that property and the Fusion was listed but not the Hauppauge tuners. I cleared it anyway but the results are the same, no tuners present.

FWIW the Hauppauge tuners still show up fine in Device Manager.

What OS are you using? If you are using Vista, are you sure you chekced the correct properties file? (There's a FAQ about where that file is located in Vista.)

Otherwise, contact support because the log says the tuenrs are being permantently ignored. Maybe thigns need to be reinstalled after the crash, though.

I am using WindowsXP. I checked the properties file in C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\Sage.properties.

I will open up a ticket with support.

I have a Bad Tuner Index problem too latest SageTV release 2008 Nov 14 ...

I had it a week ago and did a restore from Acronis True Image ... but this takes a two or more hours ... and I need to sleep in less that that. (Love it when a system goes wonky just before bed time) also it seems it will be back within a week ...

Did you find a fix?

I rebuilt my system. It was the only way I was able to resolve the issue. I started to experience other drive related issues after the rebuild. Turns out the power supply was bad.
