Helping with canceling install

I wanted to try SageTV and see if it worked well with my media extender, I thought it had a 15 day trial.

I started the install in Ubuntu and about half way through it asked for a registration key. Well I wasn't going to buy it without trying it so I tried to quit the install. With no luck I just canceled out. Now I keep getting the Sagetv install, I tried everything to get it to stop but it keeps popping up. Now I can't get past restart because the install keeps trying to run.

Can someone please help me out of this install, I don't want the program. I just want the install to end. If not I will have to reinstall Ubuntu which will be a pain.

There is no trial for the Linux version. It was created for the OEM market but made avaialble to users with no support other than this forum. You'll probably have to reinstall unless there is something in startup script that keeps launching Sage.

Yes. Not being a Linux expert that is what I would do. I would guess if this keeps popping up it must have modeifed some script that Linux runs at startup for it to keep popping up. You don't have the iso CD still in the drive or anything like that?

I wouldn't reinstall, just uninstall the deb package.

Open Synaptic Package Manager (System -> Admininstration -> Synaptic Package Manager) and then find the deb package (use the Search icon, and enter sage)... then right click on the package(s) and click "mark for complete removal". You then need to click "apply" since you can add/remove multiple packages at once, and the package manager will not "apply" those changes until you click "apply".
