Media MVP Not Working
Does anyone have any ideas why my media MVP won't load properly?
It has been working fine until now. I have tried unplugging it for 30-45 seconds and still no workie. All the MVP will do is load the blue loading screen immediately where it says something like "Checking Ethernet Connectivity", immediately followed by the next prompt saying something like "Loading Application...", then to the next prompt "Starting Application...". This "Starting Application..." prompt screen is as far as the MVP will go. At that point it sits there completely unresponsive to anything other than pulling the plug. Please help if you can I'm really frustrated right now since its not working correctly. Any ideas, Suggestions, or Solutions????? TIA |

have you tried restarting your Sage Service on your server? (or just rebooting your server?)
That usually cleared up any MVP issues I used to have. Although the latest version of Sage (6.3.10 I believe) seems to have got rid of me having to do that with any sort of regularity. |

I got it fixed.
What finally fixed it was pulling the plug on the MVP for over an hour, and power cycling and rebooting the server and router. It still acted kinda funny and froze right after connecting to sage, the screen went completely black and did nothing. Powered the MVP off with the remote control and turned it back on and viola Sage returned. Good to go for now... |

Make sure the ports needed are open between the SageTV computer and the MVP. My MVPs work, but not reliably if the ports are not open. If you are using a software firewall, make sure the ports are open there too.
If the MVP IP address changes, due to DHCP, you may have to modify your router configuration to make sure the ports are open. Dave |
