Playing DVD on Extender=Lock up

I did a search on this, but didn't find anything--so I apologize if this has been covered before.

I have an HD 100 Extender in my home gym that works fine playing HDTV (live and recorded) and SD, music, etc. Everything but watching a DVD on the server. My DVD's are full, uncompressed VOB rips. The DVD's play perfectly on the server computer (main HTPC) and on a Sage TV client computer downstairs.

My HD100 firmware is current. Any help is appreciated.

Just to clarify: what version does it say is being used?

Firmware is reported to be 20080204 0. I just did a hard reset and tried to check for a firmware update--it indicated that no firmware updates were available at this time.

Thanks again for any help with this issue.

Yes, that's the latest firmware. Version 6.3.10 is the latest version of SageTV & is shown on the Systemn Info screen -- just use the Info command foro the Main Menu.

I don't really know what is happening, thoguh -- maybe there is an issue with the DVD file structure. You could check the debug log to see if it contains anything after you try playing a DVD. If no one else has a suggestion, check with tech support to see if they know what might be happening.

You might want to check on the program you use to put the DVDs out there. I have one program and if I use it it works everywhere but on the HD Extender. I have 3 other programs that perform the same function and I have zero issues with playback on the HD Extender or anywhere else. You may want to go down that path and test with a different program.

I just "upgraded" my server to Vista SP1--that seemed to do the trick. DVD's are now playing fine on the extender--maybe it had to do with the Vista networking issues??? No idea, but now it is all working.

Thanks for all the help.
