HD Homerun stopped working after installing Hauppauge 1800

I have a couple issues with my sage box and I hope you guys can help. I had my HD homerun working fine but once I installed two Hauppauge 1800's I can't get VLC to display channels on the server. I haven't tested from the extender yet but this is a bit of a nuisance. Also another slight issue on my box is that it is a server so it has NO sound card. When I try to play things on my sage server for testing I get an exception error because there is no sound card. Does anyone have any idea how to get VLC (I reinstalled) working from my HD Homerun setup - lineup and how I can watch within sage with no sound card?

Thanks!

Neil

Ok I ran a repair with the HD Homerun and VLC is showing the shows ok now. The only issue remaining is the exception because I don't have a sound card. Any help on this one would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Neil

Guys any idea on how I can circumvent the exception for not having a sound card in the machine to test local to the server? I Would prefer not to add a sound card which is the obvious response since I would prefer to leave room for tuners.

Thanks!

Neil

A simple hardware solution would be to get a pair of USB headphones for $30-$40.

A more complicated software solution would be to install some type of virtual sound card on the PC. I don't know much about it but I be you could repurpuse something from this thread...
