"video does not have MPEG4, flv or avi file type"
Hi all,
can somebody help with online video playing. I have problem playing most of google video and youtube video, I receive the following error: "video does not have MPEG4, flv or avi file type". Thanks

What version of SageTV are you using? There is an update for the default v6.3.10 UI in a sticky at the top of this forum section.

What STV are you using? That info is shown on the System Info screen -- use the Info command while on the Main Menu.
If the STV has been updated to the one I mentioned above, what is an example video that isn't playing? - Andy

all the video that does not work seems to be streamed from http://www.dailymotion.com/us Regards Slim

System Info shows that you are not using the updated STV. Please update the STV and try it again -- the sticky thread I pointed you to has instructions for how to install and use the updated STV.

I'm using 6.5.3 and I've had this issue for as long as I can remember.
Do I also have to update my STV?

I do have IMDB, RW Metadata and Dynamic Menus loaded in with it.

Try it with an uncustomized default STV.
Then the next question would be: what videos are you having this problem with? I think some videos from Google and/or YouTube require a password to play, perhaps for something considered to be adult content or other limited access content. Google may even link to videos from sites where SageTV can't access the video. If this is from Google Video or YouTube, try playing the same video in a web browser & see what happens. - Andy
