Advice Needed

I am a newbie SageTV user and need some advice from you guys. I already have an HDHomeRun, installed it, and it is working great.

My cable company broadcasts both analog and digital channels, but is threatening to cut off the analog signals. I need QAM tuners to be safe.

I need to buy some hardware to do this ...

1. Replace a Tivo box that my wife uses in the kitchen and MBR (non-HD, composite video). She wants her own dual tuner SageTV setup (not shared with my HDHomeRun). Does not have to play HD, just digital.

2. My cable company broadcasts most HD in the clear, but there are a few I'd really like to record that are encrypted. I have an HD cable box that receives them, and would like to setup so SageTV changes the channel automatically (via remote control) and records the output of the cable box.

I am wondering if there is a single card (or combination of 2 or 3 cards) that would do all this for me?

I have a Q6600 machine, 4G memory, running XP Pro, plenty of disk, and a Gigabit network. Would like to do all the recording on this one SageTV server.

Thanks!

The HD-PVR is the holy grail because it is the answer to all our encrypted channels problems.

This? http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html

That sounds good and will handle the recording from the STB. Is this supported by SageTV or just in beta?

How about dual tuners for in-the-clear recording of a QAM signal? (Does not have to be HD, but can be). Is another HDHomeRun the only option?

Any issue getting all this working through one SageTV server?

I don't know about other tuners, but yes, the HDHR does what you want in terms of dual tuner and ability to record clear channels and it works very well with SageTV. As for the HD-PVR, it is still early to know how well it works, it was just released. Check this Hardware Support forum for many first hand experiences with it.
