Magic packet code is not difficult, there's lots of examples on the web, including those written in Java. All Sage would need to do for the extender is write a little addition to the Setup Gui for the user to enter the MAC address of the server, along with it's IP address. After that, send a magic packet every time the extender comes out of standby (preferably 2), or any time the externder loses contact with the server. I think Sage may be hesitant to get involved with WOL directly to avoid any support "calls", but if the code is written correctly they can just put a big "WOL issues are not supported" disclaimer in the documentation.
I put in an request for magic packet functionality on the externder to Support a couple months ago, I'd like to suggest everyone who is interested do the same. tsw

Turns out my mobo doesn't support WOL. I knew that a while ago but had forgotten. DOH!
