I was watching "Bonekickers" on BBC HD on Tuesday and there was an additional "audio describing" audio commentary running which I was unable to disable. I was wondering if this is a feature that can be turned off. I am using the Network Encoder to access BBC HD via DBViewer and viewing it via an HD100 Extender.
has anyone else noticed this? I thought I would check here first (as it is a UK channel) before posting a question in the hardware forum. |

I have the same setup and get this problem too on various channels. Some betas fix it but then it gets broken again. I use sageMC so I just press select and then scroll down to audio and select a different track, but like I said, it's broken in the current beta 6.4.4
Maybe the new beta 6.4.5 may have fixed it again Whitey |

I noticed the audio button stopped working a couple of weekends ago. There's an options button on the remote ( i think thats what its called - its not in front of me ) and you can select that, and then select audio options from that menu, and change audio track.
I usually get the commentary on More4. |

I'm getting occasional silent recordings too, just SD dvb-t. May be the audio description just with not a lot happening. Very irritating, DisableMultiAudio used to fix it, but no longer...

Not sure if this related to your problem or not, but the new 6.4.5 beta has a fix for this or some problem like this.
4. Fixed bug where the Audio button didn't switch audio tracks on the extender for MPEG files that were not DVDs.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago recording Dr Who on BBC3. I was using a dual Cinergy 2400i DVB-T card and viewing through Sage client. It was the commentary for the blind track that I was receiving overlaying the normal sound track and it's the only time that I have ever had, or even heard of, the problem. Is there a way that I can edit a properties file to stop this happening?

Theoretically, making this registry change fixes that problem:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\DSFilters\TSSplitter] "DisableMultiAudio"=dword:00000000

I posed a question in the hardware forum and then discovered the answer myself
![]() I didn't have this option set and now realise it was causing my problem: I went into DVBViewer (native) and ticked 'Options | Recorder | All Audio Tracks' and then applied the change. The latest firmware for the HD Extender has a fix to select different audio in Transport Stream files. Now with this latest firmware in the HD Extender, pressing the Audio button flips between the two audio tracks and I can now get Dolby 5.1 ![]() I am hoping this might resolve Audio Describing problem by now being able to select the AC3 audio channel. |

The latest beta has fixed this problem for me. I no longer get AD audio channels.
