Looking for insight/suggestions to change from VMC to SageTV
Hello all - I have been using VMC and am growing more and more impatient with the the constant crashes I am experiencing. I would like to test drive SageTV but am not sure if there are any incompatibilities after initially using VMC.

Can I simply install SageTV and use without issue, or are there steps I need to follow to "uninstall" VMC?

I just set the services that relate to media center to manual start and installed sagetv. I'm running Vista Home Premium on my server/playback pc.

Did you originally use VMC? How do you like SageTV if so?

Actually, I used GBpvr for years but the HD100 brought me to Sage. Truly a wonderful device that has greatly simplified my pvr life and greatly improved WAF. No more messing with network clients codecs etc. No more big noisy PC in the living room either. I only tried VMC for a week or two when I bought the new Vista PC.

There are still several things that I think GBpvr does better/easier than Sage, but Sage is working great for me now.
