Audio over HDMI dies or sounds scratchy

The audio from my extender over hdmi craps out often. It mostly just get scratcy but sometimes it turns off completly.

I have to poewr cycle the sage box or the tv. It certainly could be the tv but has anyone had a similar problem?


my hdmi cables are short, about 20 feet...

I plan to route audio over two extra coax as a solution but just using the hdmi would have been easier.

Your not alone - does this for me to, my hdmi cable is only 1.5 metres.
I have to power the extender off and back on to get it working again.

the question is should that make me feel better. I only have one box so I can't try a different on but are all your boxes lik that?

Similar problems here. I think my HDMI cable is 6 ft.

At least twice in the last couple of weeks, the HDMI sound stopped working on my extender. Last time it happened, I rebooted a couple of times, and it still didn't work. I ended up connecting the analog out (which always seems to be active) and used it a while, even though the extender was set to HDMI sound out. The HDMI sound is working now, but I am just waiting for it to go out again.

Unless a new firmware has been released in the last month or so, I have the latest.
