Lightbulb Parental controls for Folders

"Note: As of v6.4, imported DVDs can use .properties files. To add a metadata properties file for a DVD, place the <DVDName>.properties file in the same folder where the DVD folder is located, so that the <DVDName>.properties file and the <DVDName> folder are in the same parent folder."

I saw this became a feature for imported DVDs but how about for a "master folder"

Videos
Videos\Naughty
Videos\Drama
Videos\Action

where a single properties file can exist for Naughty that will require someone from entering into with the appropriate parental control. The only downfall I see to having it live next to a video only is that the thumbnails are visable, and it is a manual effort to great all the cascading .properties files. A single control at the folder level would be much simplier.

I'm not sure about the standard STV, but it just might work. Check out this thread and the pages it links to. I was able to completely hide certain UNC paths (folders) from the primary "videos" selection and then I created a secondary videos menu option and put ONLY the paths I had hidden in the main one. Then, I put a PIN code on the 2nd one. Works GREAT!

I was wondering if Sage or any of the plug-ins had now implemented this excellent idea of folder hierarchy based parental controls? Even if it's a simple utility to automatically create the .properties file for each and every imported video.

Thanks

Steve

Sorry to open an old thread, but I was searching the forums for this info and didn't really find much.

Is there a way to use parental controls when viewing video folders in SageTV 7?
