Good to know - I have had a nagging feeling that this issue should not be happening. Guess I will enable debug mode and do some troubleshooting.

I had the thought that it might be a file/permissions issue on the server - but since blu ray rips resume just fine, I don't think it can be that.

Do you rip the whole move including menus? As I said, I am using MyMovies for WHS - the rip is the whole DVD file structure.

thanks

Bill

Ripped both ways. The entire disc with features or just the main movie. Resume for me has been working fine.

I have no problems with this. I rip Movie only. What are you using to rip your movies?

Just MyMovies with AnyDVD on my WHS machine - rip the whole thing every time. Must do some troubleshooting.

thanks

Ok - I guess I could use some suggestions for troubleshooting. When using the HD200 in standalone mode, all DVD rips (full Video_TS folder rips) resume perfectly as do Blu Rays.

When using extender mode, only Blu Ray rips resume correctly. DVD rips resume at a point early in the move (first minute or so).

I am running under WHS - I have tried uninstalling and installing the windows version. Have tried running the service as various users with admin rights as well as a local service.

I enabled debug mode, but the output file doesn't have anything obvious that would tell me what is wrong.

I'd just stick with standalone mode except that it is not easily customizable (UI) and I don't know how to enable 1080/24p as is easily done in extender mode. Also, I have had stuttering issues with a few blu-ray files in standalone mode (although I haven't seen this problem with the latest beta firmware.)

By the way, I am running the latest server software and beta firmware on the HD 200.

Any ideas of what to try would be appreciated. I will contact support if needed, but thought I would exhaust the obvious things I could try first.

thanks

Bill

Sounds like it could be an issue with my movies. Try using the default GUI and see if that fixes it.

Same thing for me. Don't have any DB to try, but I've never had a DVD resume from where I left off since Sage started supporting DVD playback on extenders. Always starts at the beginning of the movie.

Hey,

I have the same issue. I'm playing a ripped movie and it is playing well. Then, it stops, and doesn't allow me to resume. I'm using the HD200.

If anyone finds out what the fix is, I would appreciate it!

Thanks

PJ

Well, at least I'm not the only one.

Today I have tried DVD shrink rips (versus MyMovies rips), installing the Windows version of Sage on a different server - and using different drives for the media library.

I wonder if there could be something wrong with the HD200 hardware - could there be different versions of the hardware - some work ok for this and others don't?

Also, I have, through trial and error, determined that although resume works better in standalone mode, it is not flawless. Some movies resume ok, others seem to restart near the beginning similarly to the problem in extender mode.

Kind of frustrating - as a media player the HD200 is nearly flawless in my opinion. And in extender mode it is much more responsive (snappy) in use. Yet, I find myself fast forwarding a lot since I don't watch movies straight through all the time.

When using my HD200 in extender mode I am experiencing the exact same issue with DVD and BD rips. Has any progress been made on a solution/workaround?

If I was to take the main movie and convert it to a MKV file it would resume playback just fine.
