Help Me EvilPenguin, You're My Only Hope !

Hello EvilPenguin and Friends,

I want to burn my SageTV mpeg files into DVD.
I do not need to edit them or change them in any way.
I tried downloading SageMC Video Tools STVi and the related files and following the directions, but I am unfortunately not as smart as Grommit or Wallace and when I try to extract SageMC Video Tools it just extracts into the desktop folder where I put it during download and when I run Dirmon2 it does not see anything.

I really do not need all of the fancy stuff you worked so hard to create.
Please do not be offended.
You say that DVD burning is iffy in this version.
Is there some way to burn to dvd that will look good.
I tried Nero 7, but the results look very soft focus even though the original mpegs are either standard or best quality.
I am using Win TV PVR 250 's.
The registry entry hacks sagetv has in their faq's do not appear in my system.

Can anyone help ?

Hey, i'm out of the country right now on buisness, so I can't really say what the current status of DVD burning is.

It sounds like english isn't your first language so i'll try and help you out more with the setup when I get back, but in the meantime you can try out the DVD creation outside of Sage by going into the directory my code is in, running profile2bat.exe, and then drag n' droping recordings onto the videoDVD.bat (or something like that) that gets created. It should give you a good feel for the quality you can expect.

Also, if you plan on making a lot of DVD's I recommend that you set your recording quality to DVD Standard Play instead of [B]Best[/B, the quality is about the same but you can sometimes make a DVD without reencoding the video (reencoding is causing the softness you're seeing.

Thank you evilpenguin and thank you matt91.

I will give these suggestions a try in order to see if they help me to accomplish what I am trying to do.

I will post again with details of my success and / or failure.

I very much appreciate the help from everyone.
