HD PVR and Total Media Extreme

I am having problems with Total Media Extreme not connecting with the HD PVR. Does Sage need this program installed, or can I just go without it?

I've never installed anything for my HDPVR other than the drivers. With that said, I use a server for recording and HD100's for playback...

The only reason you would need Total Media Extreme is to install the Arcsoft codec for playback. I did this because the arcsoft codec worked best for me on my PC playback machines, but obviously if you are using the extenders only for playback you wouldn't need it.

As it turns out, I am using a headless WHS server and several HD100's. I'll try it without the ArcSoft.
Thx.

Don't you need the TME to change the settings for the HD-PVR, such as the bitrate, SPDIF or component audio input, AC3 or AAC audio, etc? ...or is there another way?
