Playing live TV through the HD Extender

Hi,
First of all, I love the extender. It is a great product that mostly works very well. However I have this small glitch that is driving me crazy. I have noticed playing live tv from my pc using the hauppage 1600 capture card that a slight varying in brightness occurs during playback. I seem to notice it on the cbs channel the most. I have the extender hooked up to a 42 panasonic 720p plasma via hdmi. I've set the resolution of the extender to match the panny at 720p. I've also set the quality of the recording/live tv to the max resolution. When playing back media , it appears flawless and I don't notice the varying brightness of the display. Viewing the same channel on an 8300hdc scientific atlanta dvr through lovely time warner cable looks flawless. So something isn't playing nice. I suspect it's something to do with the hauppage 1600 capture card, but what could that be? I've updated the device driver for the card. Didn't notice any change however.

Thanks for any insight.

I think this may be a characteristic ('feature'?) of the Panasonic. I have a 32 Panasonic 720p LCD and I can see it adjusts brightness depending on what is being displayed. I think it is a lame way for Panasonic to increase the quotable contrast ratio: if there is a lot of black in the image, then turn down the backlight to make things look darker.

BTW, my Panasonic is being driven by a Sage Client PC.

In my bedroom I have a HD100 extender driving a 24" HP LCD monitor, and it looks great...no brightness fluctuations.
