Question two or more HD PVR setup question

i am considering buying 2 (or more) HD PVR units to record HD DirecTV. my question is very simple, when using more than one HD PVR to tune and capture with ..... do each individually control their STB with their own blaster or do i have to know about finding another way to tune the channels? anybody that has already done a setup like this .... i would love to hear any response and any tips that could help my switch from dual PVR500's each dual tuning in analogue on charter cable to the setup i said above.

thank you for your time to stop and read my question, i look forward to any responses. also, please note, it can take a day or more between times for me to check for responses.

Due to a limitation with the drivers of any Hauppauge device, you can only use one Hauppauge IR blaster. With multiple HDPVR's, you will have to get something else to change channels such as the USBUIRT

I am in the process of doing the same thing, since the HD-PVR can only use the IR blaster once you need to use an alternate method of tunnign the STB. I am trying to set up my H20 DirecTv receiver to use a serial connection that way no Ir is needed, but I am having some trouble getting that to work. I need to find the correct USB adapter for the H20. I will let you know how this turns out for me.
