Read Only Recording Directory?

Maybe pissing in the wind here, but this is the thought. I have a bunch of recorded stuff that's got the archive attribute set. I'd like those shows to stay in the main list of recorded shows as they are. I want to move them, however, to a NAS drive for permanent storage. If I specify a directory on the NAS drive as a video recording directory, SageTV is going to try to record shows there, which I don't want it to do. If I don't specify it as a recording directory, then my archived shows will have to be imported and won't maintain all their nice show info. If I tell SageTV to only use 0 space on the NAS volume, it will decide that it has a negative balance on that volume because of the archived shows and will report incorrect amounts of available storage.

I wonder about the possibility of setting a video recording directory to a "storage only" mode where it makes no attempt to record to that directory and doesn't consider the space part of its recording area, but still scans it for shows that are in its list in wiz.bin? Seems like that might be useful.

Open to thoughts, suggestions, flames, whatever..

Create an archives partition and put the stuff there, then add that as a recording directory. Not tell it to use all but whatever space is left on that partition. Now it will not record shows there and it's in your recording directory so they are treated as such.

Why does it have to be a recording directory simply add a directory to your import directories and move your recordings over. Sage will see them just fine as long as they are not renamed. All the recording info will still be there. Move them then refresh your import directories.

Cool Thanks

I didn't realize that it would treat programs in the import directories the same as in the record directories. Good to know. That solves the problem.
