Can't Get Eventghost to Control SageTV
I can't get EventGhost to control SageTV. It seems to find the Sage window ok but I can't get keystrokes or send message to work properly. I have tried unchecking various details in the Find Window action (SunAwtFrame, etc.) but nothing seems to work. Can someone tell me the trick here? Thanks.

This isn't going to be much help.
But try running Sage full screen. I do and I have event ghost simply emulating keystrokes. I see nothing in event ghost that is window specific for my setup. Like I said not much help. |

I read about this but can't seem to find it to download (it doesn't seem to come with the default install)?

The SageTV plugin is part of the beta distribution, I believe. You can find links to getting the beta on the Eventghost homepage or you can just follow this one (http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86) it take you to the forum with the info about where to download the beta and what you need to download.
Best of luck Steven |

I'll try the beta or just send keystrokes to the topmost window. Thanks, all.

Hi cncb,
That could work for you, that is, sending keystrokes to the topmost window. But, you have considered that having Eventghost send keystrokes to the topmost window will work most of the time, but if another window pops up, it will send the keystrokes to that window. To work around that, you'd have to have Eventghost find your Sage window before every command, which should work. On the other hand, if you install the beta, you don't have to worry about that. The Sage plugin uses SendMessage, I believe, so you don't have to worry if your Sage window is not topmost. Just a couple things I thought you might want to consider when deciding on a course of action. The keystrokes might work fine, but.... Best of luck, Steven |

http://www.EventGhost.com/downloads/
Get the most recent version there. Add a new folder under contexts called SageTV. Add the plug and when it asks for a folder for the SageTV commands tell it the newly created SageTV folder. All your Sage command will now be in that folder you will need to drag the events to trigger those actions over from the left pane as you play with your remote. If you have more troubles PM me. |
